Gareth Bale has warned his Tottenham team-mates against being complacent as they take on Norwich in the Capital One Cup tonight.
The Welsh winger is wary of the threat posed by the Canaries, who will be looking to build on their impressive recent Premier League form.
The East Anglians claimed all three points at home to Arsenal before grabbing a point at Villa Park thanks to a Michael Turner header.
Due to this the 23-year-old believes Spurs will have to be on top of their game to advance to the next round of the competition:
“They’re a team that works hard for 90 minutes and they’re going to give us a hard time, so we’ll have to be fully prepared.” He told the club’s official website.
“We’ll have to sit down and have a look what their weaknesses are. Hopefully we can exploit them and come away with a good result.”
Bale himself will enter the fixture on the back of an impressive recent run. The ex-Southampton man headed home the opening goal of Tottenham’s victory over his former club at the weekend, his third in the Premier League this season.
However, he refused to fully celebrate the goal due to his ties with the south coast outfit
“It was a muted celebration out of respect for Southampton – I was there from the age of nine – but the most important thing was to get the three points to lift ourselves back into the top four.”
