As reported by The Sun, multiple giants of European football are ready to travel to Glasgow on Sunday to track the progress of Celtic’s goalscoring superstar Moussa Dembele against Rangers.
What’s the story?
Since speculation in January linking him with a whole host of clubs, Dembele hasn’t slowed down with his goalscoring exploits, if anything he’s becoming more lethal.
No surprise then that The Sun report that the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Paris Saint-Germain are all heading to Celtic Park on Sunday to take in the big derby against their city rivals and scout the striker.
It’s not as if any extra motivation is needed on these occasions but perhaps the presence of these scouts will fire the young Frenchman up even more to put on a performance, which could be dreadful news for Rangers.
How good is he?
Dembele has been nothing short of a sensation in Scottish football this season, scoring 32 goals and contributing 6 assists in 44 appearances so far this season.
He’s scored 5 or more goals in every competition he’s played in – the Scottish Premiership, Scottish League Cup, Scottish Cup and UEFA Champions League – highlighting his importance to Celtic’s quest for the treble but also underlining he can do it at all levels and on the big occasions.
Given the fact scouts are taking in his game against Rangers, it’s worth pointing out how good his form has been in those games too, scoring 5 in 3 matches against the Ibrox side including a hat-trick the last time the two sides met at Celtic Park.
The stage is set for him to put on another massive performance this Sunday. The question is – can he deliver?
