Tottenham Hotspur picked up their third successive Premier League win as they beat bottom-of-the-table Swansea City 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night, and Spurs fans were divided on Erik Lamela’s performance.
The Argentina international returned to action at the end of November following a lengthy spell on the sidelines because of a hip injury, but despite making eight appearances since then he was named in the starting line-up for just the second time for the trip to Swans.
In tough conditions in south Wales, goals from Fernando Llorente and Dele Alli secured the three points for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, with Lamela putting in an industrious display on the wing before he was replaced by Moussa Sissoko in the 77th minute.
Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on the 25-year-old’s display via social media, and they were divided with their opinions.
While one said they “don’t get the fuss” about the winger, another said “what an asset for us”.
