Arsenal fans have faced a tough couple of years in the transfer market, losing key players such as Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey but also seeing exciting potential depart North London, either permanently or on loan – Reiss Nelson’s temporary switch to Hoffenheim this season an example of a move which caused some uproar amongst the Arsenal faithful.
The latest of those who could fly the nest is Tyreece John-Jules. At 18, he is unquestionably a very promising young player, but his talent has not gone unnoticed by would-be suitors. Football.London report that both PSG and Monaco are targeting the youngster, who may look elsewhere for a chance of first-team football, having thus far been confined to youth football in the form of the Premier League 2.
It is not yet clear where the striker’s future lies, but for Gunners fans it is an all too familiar story of a youth prospect who may enjoy his best years away from the Emirates. Fans have long called for the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Nelson and Emile Smith-Rowe to get more game time, and this news has been greeted with a similar reaction. While some have implored the club to give more opportunities to young players, others have simply lamented a report that claims John-Jules could be part of an exodus of promising academy talent.
Here is the reaction from Arsenal fans on Twitter…
