Burnley are lining up a £9m bid for Middlesbrough defender Nathan Wood, who is also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, per The Sun.
What’s the word?
The 17-year-old has already made four appearances for the Championship club’s senior team.
A centre-back, Wood became the club’s youngest-ever player when he featured in an EFL Cup tie against Peterborough.
Capped at Under-18 level by England, numerous clubs want Wood, The Sun reports, but Burnley are said to be leading the chase.
Sean Dyche’s side could now make a bid for the teenager in the January transfer window.

A promising talent
Wood seems like he could be an excellent talent.
Already thriving at Boro, his next career move will be telling and could be informative as to his profile.
A move to Spurs or Arsenal is obviously the kind of move that would appeal to a young player.
But the pathway would be blocked at both clubs; a switch to Burnley would perhaps see his development accelerate and bring his Premier League debut that much closer.
Time will tell which choice he makes.
