In 2023, Barcelona undertook the job of renovating their iconic home stadium, the Spotify Camp Nou, as they looked to improve the facilities. The work is said to be costing the Catalan side close to €1.5 billion (£1.2b/$1.7b), a sum that has put a lot of load on their already weak financial status. The stadium is nearing completion, but new aerial footage has prompted rival fans to joke about there being no changes to the stadium's appearance.

Barcelona's Camp Nou may look exactly the same as it did before, however, the majority of the facilities have been renovated over the course of the last two years. The internal parts of the stadium have already been completed, while the construction of the roof is expected to take another 12 to 18 months to be finished. The Catalan side are hopeful of completing the pitch renovations by the start of next season.
