According to Amorim is taking decisive action to reshape the squad in his image, with four superstars —Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho —set to be frozen out of the club’s upcoming pre-season tour of the United States. Should any of the four players still be on the books when the squad departs for the U.S. in July, they will remain behind and train separately at United's Carrington training ground.

Amorim’s sweeping changes come in the aftermath of one of United’s darkest seasons in recent memory. The club’s dismal 15th-place finish in the Premier League marked their lowest in over five decades, while a 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the Europa League final added salt to the wounds. The pressure is firmly on the new manager to oversee a complete turnaround, with club officials fully backing his decisions.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID
A club insider revealed to Amorim is stamping his authority on the club. It was hard arriving mid-season, but he now has the opportunity to shape the team in his image. And he’s wasting no time.
“He only wants players who would die for the shirt and are on board with his ideas. He also wants a smaller squad to create an intimate team bond so that everyone gets enough game time to be at peak fitness when called upon. He doesn’t want any bad apples or distractions.”
DID YOU KNOW?
United have already secured the signing of Wolves forward Matheus Cunha for £62.5m, as part of their summer rebuild. The club is also pursuing Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and still harbours hopes of signing Viktor Gyokeres, a player Amorim coached at Sporting CP. Sales will be key to increasing funds, and the potential exits of Rashford, Garnacho, Sancho, and Antony could bring in significant revenue.
