Some Charlton fans have taken to Twitter to heap praise on Jason Pearce following the 2-2 draw against Fulham on Saturday.
The Addicks managed to admirably scrap their way to earning a point against one of the better sides in the Championship, blessed with a £22m striker up top and some quality individuals littered throughout the team.
Pearce – who is Charlton’s captain – gave the aforementioned £22m striker Aleksandar Mitrovic a real tough time in what was an old fashioned battle between defender and forward.
The 31-year-old made a huge five clearances and also blocked two shots, while also winning two fouls up against the physical Serbia international.
Despite watching their side twice throwing away the lead, some Charlton fans on Twitter have still taken the time to pile the praise on Pearce for his efforts.
One fan said that the 6 foot 1 centre-back led by example, whereas another called Pearce an “unreal player”.
Let’s take a look at some more of the Twitter reaction…
