Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Europa League Round of 16 first leg against Olympiacos may have been anticlimactic, but it saw Daniel Podence return to Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, which he posted about on Instagram.
The game was played behind closed doors, which sucked the atmosphere from the occasion, while the Portuguese attacker was only brought on in the 79th minute in what was a tame affair.
His introduction came after the two goals, as Youssef El-Arabi opened the scoring, before Pedro Neto’s deflected free-kick earned an equaliser for Wolves.
Considering the time constraints, it is pretty understandable that Podence didn’t have much of an impact on the game, failing to complete any shots, dribbles or key passes.
For true Wolves fans only: How much did each of these players cost?
The second leg will hopefully see more action than the first – from both the team and individual – and the 24-year-old feels confident that the result will be going in Wolves’ favour, as he insisted “the win is ours”.

Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo’s decision on one man has been questioned.
