Leeds United shareholders 49ers Enterprises are ready to ‘accelerate’ their efforts to become the majority owners of the club, according to a key update.
The Lowdown: 49ers’ influence growing
The American-based franchise first became involved with the Whites back in 2018 and their influence at the club has continued to grow from that point on.
Numerous recent reports have suggested that the 49ers will eventually look to fully take ownership of Leeds from Andrea Radrizzani, with it feeling like a matter of time. Now, a fresh claim further suggests that this could happen sooner rather than later.
The Latest: Key update emerges
According to Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams, the strength of the US dollar in comparison to the pound means the 49ers are prepared to ‘accelerate their efforts’ to become majority owners of Leeds.
They would ‘benefit from an ex-post discount’ given the state of the dollar currently and the takeover could happen before the expected date of January.

The Verdict: Good for Leeds
49ers already have a 44% stake in Leeds and it does feel as though taking complete charge of the club will end up benefiting the club even more.
Radrizzani has done a great job as owner, overseeing a memorable period that has culminated in a return to the Premier League, but the 49ers may possess more financial power.
That could mean more money available for transfers and potentially expand Elland Road, taking the Whites to another level on and off the pitch in the process.
